Kite Runner
Amir had to come down from his rich aristocratic way of life to a low slum life in America where he is ended up with his strong minded father. And from that slum life, they again revive together with many other afghan refugees . There, he finds love and comfort.
In the end, 'once a meek' hero goes back to his home land to save his best friend's (Hassan) son
Sohrab from the tyranny of the cruel villain (Assef- acommon enemy of both Amir and Hassan and the Hazara people). He saves the boy from the cruel sexual harassment from the villain Azif in his Army house and with much difficulty, he succeeded to adopt Sohrab and take back to America.
But the boy who has gone through much difficulty and cruelty in his small life span, even though atfirst, began to trust in Amir and his escape from the tyranny, refuses to accept his present comfort as real when an immigration problem occurs in his travel to America.
Sohrab tries to commit suicide but escapes. All the hardships he had gone through made him distrust people in general and pathetically he became mute and the incident invokes in Amir a much more deeper fatherly love towards the boy. Amir and his wife, Soraya who had no son or relatives to succeed them found in Sohrab, an heir, as well as a purpose to live.
In the end, in a kite running competition, Amir helps Sohrab to win (like Hassan helped Amir
long ago to win a kite running competion, and the tragedy followed while Hassan went in search of the defeated kite, which altered the half brother's life much and separates them forever) and it gives Sohrab a boost to believe in Amir and his love again and when Sohrab smiles for the first time, ( which was a sign of his recovery from the temporary muteness) after reaching America, it brings tears in Amir and Soraya, as well as in readers, at the thought that there are still good people on Earth who wait patiently to correct the mistakes done by many through their patience and goodwill.
