Delhi- by M. Mukundan

When I read it when I was young, it gave me a very clear picture about the characters and their feelings etc.. But now i could only read it for the sake of reading it but cannot go deeper into it

I think, something has happened to my brain after all these years of lonely, insecure life in a foreign land. I fail to believe in life and its good things in it and its stability.

Now the situations are changing. Lots of malayalees are coming and seeing them around
gives me relief and assures me that I am not alone at last. They are here, my mother land's
children, coming with my mother land's culture and tradition to save me from the orphanage

Mayyazhippuzhayute theerangaL

This is a malayalam book by M. Mukundan.
When I first read it before my marriage, it gave me much nostalgia .
But when I tried to read it after my two phases, wife role and mother role, I couldn't go deeper into it. I don't know why, may be because of the gap in between- from my mother land and a foreign land, all alone (alone mentally)-made me mistrust Malayalam which has abandoned me heartlessly. Another reason for my inablility to concentrate may be because of the scarcity of getting malayalam publications here, my subconscious mind chose to read what ever is stable and available, even though it is in a foreign language, which I am not well versed in.

I shall read all the famous malayalam novels once I could get rid of my insecurity or fear whatever it is... I like to read S K Pottakkaadu's 'oru desaththinte kathha', Urub's, 'sundaranmaarum sundarikaLum' and more...

Khasakkinte ithihasam

It is malayalam book my O.V. Vijayan. I read it because people said it is the best book in malayalam.

Robinson Crusoe

Secret Garden

I enjoyed reading this children's story

Falling Leaves

A story of a Chinese Woman's successful personal life, but pitiful abandonment by her family from inheritance. It is a very heart touching story. In the end, all her success become nothing to her when she learns that she was excluded from her right over her paternal property. It is not for the wealth she laments but for their neglect and unacceptance. In the end she finds herself alone with her broken roots
and massive wealth.

Monsoon Diary

It is Sobha Nair's simple but interesting story of an Indian girl from a village who went abroad for higher studies and ends up as a good house wife there. Her style is very simple and she brings forth the village life with all its simplicity, humbleness and nobility. She has also included some of her favorite reciepes in this book. I like this book. I liked her writing style.

Cane River

It tells stories of 6 generations of a negro family from slavery to independence . The style of writing is excellent.

Anne Of Green Gables

This is about an orphan girl who rises from an ordinary village girl to an educated and successful young lady with her courage and optimism; overcoming all difficulties in between, with her confidence and truthfulness.

Holy Cow

An English Lady visited the whole India and gives a very good insight into the Gods and religious believes and practices prevail in different parts of India.
For me it is a very valuable and interesting book.

God Of Small Things

Arunthathy Roy

A most touching novel I ever read. After completing it, it took many days to come to terms with the tragic death of velutha and the fate of the twins and their mother.

Jane Eyre

This is another of my favorite book.

Wuthering Heights

It was given me by my brother. I liked the story as it revolves round the English village people. Some characters in this book resembled my own village people. The story was very touching. It is about a love triangle and how it affects generation after generation. The characters in it lived in my heart for a long time.
