Inheritance of Loss

Kiran Desai

I couldn't complete Sophie's World. But I completed another 3 0r 4 novels making Sophy to wait. 'Inheritance of Loss' by Kiran Desai (another novel by her mother Anitha Desai also indulge into the loneliness of the old age and a deprived childhood. Story of an Old Woman and a young girl who is her great grand daughter on a hillside deserted Benglow) Kiran Desai also in her book, tells the story of some rich people living on the hillside which loses its security due to politics and poverty of the common people around. They invade their privacy and slowly the rich and the poor had to share the land and its resources together. The rich has nowhere to go as well as the poor. So they linger to see the last downfall, some calmly, some greedily, some wisely.
